Who we are

Avantas (avantas.ai) is an AI-visibility checking service run from the United Kingdom. For anything about your data, email hello@avantas.ai.

What we collect and why

• Running a free audit. The domain you type in, and the public pages and files we fetch from that website. We don’t need to know who you are to run one.
• Creating an account. Your email address and a password. We store the password only as a one-way hash that we can’t read back. We use your email to identify your account, and we don’t send marketing email.
• Using your workspace. The websites you track, the competitors and buyer questions you add, the scores we record at each weekly re-scan, and AI answers, whether we fetch them or you paste them in.
• Server logs. Like any website, our server records the IP address, browser type and page requested for each visit. We use these to keep the service running and secure, and delete them after 14 days.

Cookies

We set one cookie, av_session, and only when you log in. It keeps you signed in for up to 30 days and is strictly necessary for the account to work, so there is no consent banner. We use no analytics or advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.

Public audit pages

When anyone audits a website, its score is published at avantas.ai/audit/ followed by the domain. These pages describe websites, not people. If you run a website and want its page removed, email us and we will take it down.

Who else handles data

• Hetzner Online GmbH hosts the service on servers in Germany.
• Google. When your workspace checks what AI answers say, the buyer questions you chose are sent to Google’s Gemini service. We send the questions, not your account details.
• Microsoft Bing. When a public audit page is created or updated, we send its address to Bing’s IndexNow service so it can be crawled. Nothing else is sent.

We don’t sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Our lawful basis

We handle account and workspace data to provide the service you signed up for. We keep server logs, and publish factual assessments of public websites, on the basis of our legitimate interests in running a secure service and in publishing them.

How long we keep it

Account and workspace data: until you ask us to delete your account. Server logs: 14 days. Public audit pages: until the site is re-checked or removal is requested.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to have a copy of it. Email hello@avantas.ai and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
